Client Coach Agreement
I'm reaching out to introduce a client- coaching agreement I want to make with you. With any relationship, there are often unsaid expectations that both parties hold that lead to unnecessary conflict and challenges unless a solid groundwork is laid first.
For example, you (as a client) many expect certain results or resources from me, while we (as a coach's) may expect certain behaviors and consistency from you to achieve those results.
However, if neither of us has clearly communicated and agreed upon these terms, the likelihood of conflict remains high because neither of us knows exactly what we should be doing to fulfill our end relationship.
By laying out very clear terms, all ambiguity is removes and a very transparent relationship follows. This leads to more honest dialogue and ownership of behavior on both sides.
When either party fails to uphold part of the agreement it creates an opportunity for honest conversation and personal growth instead of unspoken resentment. The goal isn't perfection on either side, but an atmosphere of transparency. Through clear and effective communication, both of us will have a great experience and our relationship will flourish.
To be clear, this agreement is not a contact, and is not meant to for anything upon you. The goal is for both of us to agree to behaviors that we will commit to.
I’ve included an expectations agreement that we can use as a starting point.
